Buying a Domain and Hosting
The second step in creating an Internet marketing business is to establish and purchase a domain name. A domain name is a web page address and is how potential clients locate a product/service on the World Wide Web. www.plumbingbyjoyce.com is an example of a Domain name or Internet address. Naming an online business requires strategy and research to succeed. Domain names should be concise, memorable, include keywords based around niche ideas, business/product descriptive, and should not contain punctuation symbols such as apostrophes or hyphens, and easily conveys the content of a website to the client before the site is actually viewed. Furthermore, a domain name extension such as .com, .org, .net, .biz, and .info needs to be selected It is not mandatory to choose .com as an extension but it is smart because the vast majority of people immediately gravitate to typing .com a the end of website addresses out of familiarity. Hence, using .com extensions allow customers easier access to a website. Generally, choosing a keyword rich domain name that avoids anything that would confuse future patrons of an online site is an ideal goal. Moreover, before deciding and purchasing a domain name it is wise to investigate what particular keywords will garner the most popularity and hence potential business from clients. Modern technology eases this task with the creation of keyword tools. Keyword trackers take the form of websites such as www.wordtracker.com, www.keywordtumbler.com, and www.goodkeywords.com. Inundating a domain name (web address) and website content with popular keywords verified by the aforementioned keyword tracker sites, ensures increased web page views that in turns boosts sales, and furthers business growth and prosperity. After constructing an accurate domain name, it needs to be registered or purchased from a company that sells or resells such names. A hosting account is the service that allows a site to be viewed by the public, which is why it needs to be purchased (registered) from a third party. A common Domain name seller is GoDaddy.com. Domain names are relatively inexpensive (usually less than $ 10-35 dollars per year) considering it determines the host of a site and how people arrive there. If a website needs a shopping cart or inventory processor to help account, track, sell its services or products, which, is called eCommerce, the cost for hosting fees and registration increase. These tasks are some of the most important feature to help foster a flourishing Internet business and are the initial steps that aid in keeping it running smoothly.
